About the Aves

Sycamore Aves Youth Football & Cheerleading exclusively serves the children and parents of the Sycamore Community School District.  We are entering our 23rd year of providing a positive introduction to youth football for Sycamore children.

We are a founding member of the Community Youth Football League (CYFL), one of the leading competitive youth football organizations in the region.  The CYFL member organizations are Anderson, Indian Hill, Kings, Lakota, Little Miami, Loveland, Mason, Milford, and Sharonville.

Our philosophy is different than what many people expect when considering youth football for their child.  Please explore this web site to read more about our philosophy, our mission, and our league organization.

Our Mission

It is the mission of the Sycamore Aves Youth Football organization to provide a positive introduction to youth football for ALL of our players.  The organization will provide a comprehensive program, based on the core values of age appropriate coaching and positive motivation and encouragement, in order to develop fundamental football skills in all of our players.

Participation in the program will result in an experience that enriches our children's lives by building character traits including a strong work ethic, self-discipline, positive self-image, and sportsmanship.  Our community's children will also develop important social skills including teamwork, cooperation, and communication.

A goal of the organization is to prepare our athletes' for the challenges of junior high school sports.  As a result, and as the level of competition increases through grade levels, the amount of guaranteed playing time will be adjusted.   A certain amount of playing time, defined by each coach, will be guaranteed through the 2nd grade level.  Playing time will not be guaranteed starting at the 3rd grade level, although the goal of the organization and all of our coaches is to provide all of our players with game experience.  Player attendance at practice, attitude, and skill development are key factors in helping to determine the amount of game experience each player receives.

We believe it is essential that our mission be accomplished by growing and nurturing a respected organization, guided by our values , involving our parents, and putting our players first.  Go Aves!
